Using Hydrogen Peroxide to Clean Carpets

For one of the recipes for cleaning carpets with hydrogen peroxide you will have to mix one part of 3% hydrogen peroxide with 5 parts water. It is always advisable to test the cleaner on an inconspicuous area first especially when using a product for first time. This solution is very useful when cleaning mould and mildew from your carpet. However, it can be used for different carpet stains.

Another recipe is to make a solution of hot water and biodegradable liquid soap and after that to add the peroxide. The trick here is to make the solution to have a content of 2% hydrogen peroxide. If you want to make one gallon of water, you will need 1/3 cup of 35% peroxide. It will be easier for you to determine how peroxide to add when you know that there are sixteen cups of liquid in a gallon. You should multiply the gallon amount times 2% and this way you will calculate the amount of peroxide that needs to be added.

If you mix hydrogen and ammonia in 50/50 proportion you will get a solution that can be used to clean ink stains. Just you need to be careful as not all fabrics can handle ammonia, so read the instructions to prevent damages.
